Zade moved so he stood just slightly in
front of me as if protecting me. Odd. Did I need protection from Jase? “Just
making sure our little gem doesn’t get herself in trouble.” Zade cocked his
head to the side. “Isn’t that what we agreed on?”
The tranquility-breathing dragon stood
inside the arched doorway, glaring at Zade with a mean scowl—his eyes so dark
they almost appeared black. “Yes, but that doesn’t include you seducing her.”
“Since when do you meddle in my
extracurricular activities?” Zade challenged him, with an edge to his voice.
It was my turn to frown. I was no one’s
extracurricular activity.
A growl rose up in Jase’s throat. He
stormed to where Zade and I where awkwardly standing. “She’s off limits.”
Golden God’s lips formed into a tight
line. “You forget, Jase, you’re not king. There is no single ruler of the Veil
Things had escalated quickly, and I
didn’t want these two going into the dragon ring over me. “Hey!” I yelled,
stepping between the two. Not the brightest of ideas, but at the moment, it was
all I could think to do. I didn’t want blood spilled over me.
A muscle began to thump in Jase’s jaw.
“Keep your lips off her.”
Spreading my arms out wide between them,
my hands flattened on their chests. “Okay. First off, I can kiss whomever I
Jase’s glower deepened.
I rolled my eyes. This was ridiculous.
Framing Jase’s face with both of my hands, I rose up on my toes and planted one
on him, just to prove a point. The joke was on me.
The moment our lips met, all annoyance
vanished from within me. My eyes fluttered closed as I fell into the blissful
storm that was all Jase. His lips were soft… and skilled, expertly moving over
mine. His hands came up to cup either side of my cheeks, and he deepened what
was supposed to be a peck. My mouth opened, letting him in, and a purr sounded
at the back of my throat as his tongue swept inside.
I’d never been kissed like this
before—so passionately and fervently. My fingers bunched his shirt, holding him
in place just in case he got any ideas about pulling away. I wasn’t done yet.
Honestly, I never wanted to stop kissing Jase Dior.
Zade cleared his throat behind us. How
had I forgotten about him? Jase pulled back, his breath as ragged as mine.
I glanced up into his eyes, seeing the
violet in them glowing brightly. “There. Are you satisfied?” I rasped,
swallowing a knot of yearning. No more kissing dragons.
“Not nearly.” Jase’s head dipped as if
he was going to take possession of my lips again.
My hand pressed against his chest,
keeping him just out of reach. “Oh, no. I think I’ve kissed enough dragons
today.” I could barely believe I had locked lips with two of them within
minutes of each other.
What is wrong with me?

Hello again! I know I haven’t posted much, and haven’t posted any updated or My Monday posts in over two weeks… Well, there is a reason for that. One, in the last two weeks I finished my final days of jury duty, and I don’t have to worry about it for at least 2 years.

Also, my birthday was last week, (Aug 21). I didn’t really get to celebrate much, but I did have cake with my mom, grandma, and my brother and sister. Mom plans to take me to Steak & Shake when we can go, but I have to wait.

I am also working on planning where I will be living and working, and maybe even the chance of returning to college next fall. The biggest thing is, it’s looking less and less likely that I will be able to return to living with my grandma, and she’s having more and more trouble living alone, and needs help and medical advice, and since I don’t have a car, I’m unable to take her to the dr. or help her pay bills. My mom normally does that, but she also has health problems, and really needs me to start helping out more.

So, the plan is to help my grandma find a place closer to my mom, and for me to start driving, and maybe get a car next spring so I can start helping out more. I have a long way to go, but things are looking up, and I’m hopeful that this is the right path.

ARC* Two Dark Reigns  (Three Dark Crowns #3) by Kendare Blake

This is what I plan to read, but posts and books that are planned are all subject to change. I also won’t list reviews in the planned posts, since I never know when I have going to have time to write them. I usually write a few at a time, so it gets squeezed in when every I get the chance. The exception is for a book I received from the author, publisher, or other site in exchange for a review, those I usually write ahead and schedule for a time agreed on by the requester, usually on or around the publish date, this is especially true if the book is an ARC from NetGalley, Edelweiss, or similar source.
I will mark books that were requested or suggested in exchange for a review with *

Today is the cover reveal for Jessica Ruddick’s latest book, the first in a new YA Paranormal Romance series: Undefined!

Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

But when secrets about her life are revealed and outside forces threaten everything Sophie holds dear, she must embrace who she is or risk losing it all.

One woman on the run. Four dangerously sexy bodyguards. And a war brewing that will change the shifter world forever…

I’m living on borrowed time, fighting for survival against a deadly new virus that has no cure and a cult doing its best to brainwash me. But when a mysterious note shows up on my windowsill one night, its chilling message–Run, Wren–launches me out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Within hours, everything I thought I knew about my life, my family, and my origins is obliterated, and I’m racking up enemies at an alarming rate. Between the cult I’ve just escaped, a violent shifter faction out for my blood, and an ancient evil who eats “chosen ones” like me for breakfast, my last hope is to join forces with four dangerous-looking men who claim they were sent to guard my life.

Luke, a werewolf with a rap sheet. Creedence, a lynx shifter who never met a mark he couldn’t con. Kite, a bear kin with a mean right hook and heart of gold. And Dust, my childhood best friend and dude voted least likely to be a secret shape-shifting griffin.

But are these men really what they seem?

Or are my alpha guardians hiding a secret agenda of their own?

I’m not sure, but one thing is for certain—choosing the right allies will mean the difference between life and death. For me, and everyone I love.

UNLEASHED is book one in the Dark Moon Shifter’s series. It is a true reverse harem featuring one woman and her four mates.

Review: I loved reading this book! I’m picky about PNRs and feel most of them are pretty much the same (I also feel this way about Contemporary Romances 😅) so I was pleased to find this one is a breath of fresh air! It also takes a post-apocalyptic sci-fi  take on urban fantasy. The characters were fun and realistic, and the romance was steamy!

KidLitExchange Review: Bhimrao Ambedkar: The Boy Who Asked Why?

Bhimrao Ambedkar: The Boy Who Asked Why

by Sowmya Rajendran (Author),
Satwik Gade (Illustrator)
Why do I have to sit separately in a corner of the classroom? Why can’t I drink water from the tap like other children? Why do the teachers never touch my books?

The ‘whys’ shout louder in little Bhim’s head as he grows up, trailed constantly by the monster of untouchability. They catapult him into a lifetime of struggle for equality. They shape the remarkable ideas that are the cornerstone of the Indian Constitution, which he drafted as India’s first Law Minister.

The Boy Who Asked Why follows the life of an extraordinary man, ‘Babasaheb’ Bhimrao Ambedkar, who energised the struggle against caste prejudice. His fiery speeches and writings urged Dalits to protest against the inhumanity they suffered, and continue to suffer. This straightforward telling, visualised with quirky imagination, brings to children a man whose story will raise their awareness of discrimination — leading them, perhaps, to ask their own whys.

*I received a digital copy of this book as part of the KidLitExchange. This does not affect my review.*

Wow! I love children’s books where both parent and child learns something, and this book about a well known name in India’s history is introduced to readers around the world. I have never heard of Bhimrao Ambedkar, and I’m sure many others haven’t either, but I’m so glad to see the change one person could bring about, and that there is good in the world. It is a great resource for teachers, librarians, and parents!

Exhaling, the prince took him off guard as he lifted his eyebrow. “What I
don’t understand is how the Faes have achieved such loyalty. What did they do?”

He chewed his bottom lip as he hopped over a fallen tree
trunk. He looked to Marquis. “They were the dreamers in a time when culture,
creativity, and equality were being butchered. The Academy was the foundation
of that dream, for desolates, for the people with weaker abilities. For
everyone. The people of Kiero followed Roque because they can’t fear him, they
can only admire him. How brave he was for standing up to his father, for
breaking free of his reign to start his own.”

Marquis chewed his lip. “It sounds like you have a different
opinion of him.”

He threw out his hands. “I was born at the Academy. Raised
in the Academy. Who am I to doubt the intentions of the Faes? They are
practically family.”

Shrugging, Marquis cooed, “Sometimes it is the ones closest
to us that betray us first.”
