Book Lovers’ Tag

Book Lovers’ Tag

1. Do you have a specific place for reading?

I normally read in bed, but as long at it’s quiet, I can read almost anywhere.

2. Bookmarks or a Random Piece of Paper?

Haha, I normally use library receipts, since most physical  books I read are from the library. Oddly enough, I collect bookmarks though I rarely use them in books XD

3. Can you just stop anywhere or do you need to finish a chapter?

I can stop almost anywhere…unless something big just happened, then I have to know! I used to only stop on a chapter, but after reading some books where each chapter ended in a cliffhanger…well, I just had to read a little more. Now if I can tell things about building-up, and I need to stop soon, I stop before things get to a point where I have to read on.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

No, I sometimes drink water, but that’s all.

5. Music or TV while reading?

Nope. If it’s part of an audiobook I don’t mind, but I often need silence when reading. I get distracted super fast, so I end up reading the same line over and over without really understanding what I’m reading, or get so focused on the TV/music that I stop reading. Though I have listened to movie scores and instrumentals while writing before.

6. One book at a time or several?

Lol…Um, I am notorious for starting books, then starting another book if the first doesn’t grab my attention right away. I often read a little of a few I wanted to read until one starts to pick up, and fully grabs my attention.
7. Do you prefer to read at home or elsewhere?

At home. While I can read in a dr. office or other quiet place, I am introverted, and have anxiety that makes it hard for me to focus and relax when I am away from home.

8. Read out loud or silently?

Silently. I’m a super slow reader, and have always struggled with reading. I often stumble over words, and mispronounce names and other words when reading out loud. Still I do read out loud sometimes to my little brother.
9. Do you read ahead or skip the pages?

Not often, though some books I do read the last line, but I try to avoid skipping ahead. That said, if a big reveal is on the same page as I’m reading, I’ve skimmed for answers before.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

While most of the time I read on Kindle now, I always try to keep my books like new.

11. Do you write in your books?

I don’t write in print books, but again, as I often read on Kindle I’m always highlighting things.

Since this is another old tag, I won’t tag anyone, but if you want to do it, I tag you! Feel free to post a link in the comments so I can see your answers 🙂
