pirates, and traveling players meet in this steampunk fantasy

Review: I am new to this author, but after reading this one, I'm interested in reading more of her work! Ember is half Fae, half human, a princess...and an exile! And that's just the beginning! Steampunk and pirate? All that and so much more! Well written, and perfectly paced, I loved reading this one!

Could you tell us a little about the characters in The Exiled Otherkin?

Absolutely! My stories are always character driven. The protagonist, Ember, is an apathetic half-fae who is exiled from Faerie when her father dies. She may be apathetic when you meet her, but she wasn’t always that way. Though hurt many times by her stepmother’s schemes, it isn’t until Liam betrays her that she shuts off her emotions. She’s a strong person who knows how to take care of herself, especially since she’s the only one she can rely on.

Reilley is the opposite of Ember. He cares too much for others, but he doesn’t really take care of himself. He’s the type who doesn’t want to be an inconvenience. He’s had a hard life, but he never let it get him down. When he meets Ember, he immediately attaches himself to her. She is less than pleased.

Helena is the main antagonist, Ember’s stepmother, and the queen of Faerie. She has made it her personal mission to destroy Ember’s life. She has a hatred for humans and any Fae who sympathize with them.

Liam is Helena’s puppet as well as Ember’s childhood friend and first love. He perpetrates most of the antagonistic action in the story. Liam is the truly tragic character. He made a series of bad decisions for all the right reasons, but he still has to live with the consequences.

reading or writing, she’s probably hiking, crafting, watching
anime, Korean television, Bollywood, or old movies. She may also be
