33071401Solstice by Braxton A. Cosby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of all three books from the author in exchange for my honest review. This in no way affects my review. Thank you!

William and Sydney have sacrificed everything to fortify their love, so much so that William dares to brave the depths of space to find a cure for their deadly Supernova bond, leaving both her and Earth vulnerable to Torrian Alliance attack. With overwhelming odds mounting against them, William makes a desperate attempt to find the last of the endangered Star-children only to be captured by a new menace, where he is forced to compete in the dreaded Gauntlet of sport. Allies surge to free Fabricius, seeking alliances across the galaxy while Sydney tries to keep her identity hidden and trains to master the third phase of her Star-child evolution: Solstice. Review: Crown of Midnight

17167166Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blurb: "A line that should never be crossed is about to be breached.

It puts this entire castle in jeopardy—and the life of your friend."

From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil.

Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingly difficult when Celaena realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. As she tries to untangle the mysteries buried deep within the glass castle, her closest relationships suffer. It seems no one is above questioning her allegiances—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena's world shatters, she will be forced to give up the very thing most precious to her and decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie... and whom she is ultimately willing to fight for.

#BeatTheBacklist TBR 2017 Challenge!

So I have been wanting to change up my blog a bit, and be more active in challenges #tags and overall be more fun and interactive! So! Here's my first step towards doing that. I will be featuring my reading goals, challenges, and even this fun #BTB challenge Hosted by NovelKnight (click name for more info!)

I was so excited to see this on Instagram because I have been wanting to go back and finish some of the series that I had put down or that weren't finished while I was reading them, and that I hadn't taken the time to finish yet. There are SO many that I don't have a list yet, but I do know I want to read at least 100 books again this year, for 2016 I read nearly 120! (and I only counted those I finished XD)

Here is the first month's bookstagram challenge, my plan is to make a post each day of the week to go along with my photo for the prompt...wish me luck! But really I think this is a fun way for me to track my progress, as well as share what I am reading, or plan to pick up next and compare with the things all of you are reading! (Because I'm curious and love to talk about books!)

This challenge is open to everyone, and I linked to the page if any of my readers would like to join! You don't have to have a blog, a Goodreads or other account will work. The photo listed above is for their photo challenge, and it is featured on both Instagram at: @novelknight and Twitter: @beatthebacklist Enjoy!
