Review: Snow

3551100 Snow by Cynthia Rylant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cynthia Rylant’s lyrical descriptions of the sights and feelings evoked by falling snow blend gorgeously with the rich and beautiful world created by Lauren Stringer’s illustrations, in which a young girl, her friend, and her grandmother enjoy the many things a snowy day has to offer.

A fun children's poem book about snow! With a song like tone, and beautiful pictures. I really enjoyed this one. I loved how warm and fuzzy this book makes me feel, taking be back to all those years before tinted in the rosy haze of childhood. From the first now, to snow forts. Snowball fights to snowmen. Warm soup to biting frost. Ah the memories! This book takes a simple thing, Snow, and creates a beautiful picturesque story around snow. A treat for children and adults alike!
