Review: Queen of Shadows

18006496 Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blurb: The queen has returned.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series continues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

Wow! I made it! What a rush! So much happened, yet so much left to do! While I thoroughly enjoyed this one, the ending left me feeling as if something was missing, I know there is more to the story, and that's likely what it is, but I don't know. It was just missing that little something that could have made it a 5 star book. I love all the characters though, and am ready to brave Empire of Storms! Wish me luck!

Can't wait to see more of Lorcan, Manon, Elide and Dorian as well as reading more about Alien and her Court!
